School Trips

Reading around, there seems to be mixed answers to this question.  I'm participating in a school trip, taking charter buses to Austin.  Carry on a school trip, that is sponsored by the school and thus acted out by employees of the school, representing the school would be forbidden correct?

You need written permission from the school.

mark996,

You are generally correct. Under TPC 46.03(a)(1), you are prohibited from carrying on both activities sponsored by the school and where they are being conducted, and in a passenger transportation vehicle of a school or educational institution.

Therefore, you would not be able to carry on the charter buses for the school, and you would not be able to carry at the activity.

However, an exception does exist if you are able to obtain written authorization from the institution.

Hope that helps. Thanks for the question.

See TLS Attorney's reply to another recent post "Texas CHLs in Other Reciprocating States, But . . ." Hopefully, this will help some.
