Pistol in car and new Texas Open Caary law

Does anyone know the details of keeping a pistol in the car under open carry? For example, does it have to be in a holster? Still concealed? Ect...also what if left for a moment while getting gas, and say, your spouse is in the car with no CHL?  Likely I'll continue to keep concealed, but want to know the legal specifics.

They should have to make it legal but in some cases this could also be dangerous. The better solution is not to carry a gun anymore. ;)

Negative
The solution is to do whatever it takes for everyone in your family or around you to legally carry and then to do so. The fix to the majority of these questions are simple. Get the CHL, keep the CHL and continue the political fight. Have no doubt in your mind you are in a fight for your rights. It will remain so until constitutional carry is achieved and then we will not become complacent!
Train everyone who is in visual or physical contact with that weapon no matter their age or capabilities.
