NAGR vs. NRA. Thoughts?
« on: August 13, 2015, 07:08:09 PM »
Hi. I am currently a member of both the NRA and the NAGR (National Assoc. for Gun Rights). I saw a few blurbs out there stating that NAGR runs fundraising scams. Since it is a newer organization I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on it. Do they actually do as much for gun owners as the NRA does? I have had difficulty getting NAGR and TXGR (Texas chapter) to reply to any of my inquiries so I'm starting to wonder if my money is going to waste. Thanks!

For my money, I expect to have not only an influence on Capitol Hill, but also an indisputable source of clear and concise legislative information absent hysteria and hyperbole.  A listing of current state gun laws. Offerings of gun owner insurance plans. Firearms safety and education programs, and sponsored events.  Your requirements may differ.  Look what you get for your money:

The NRA is better due to size, training programs and influence. That being said don't trust any of the organizations as they all have their own agendas. If yours won't answer you then you have your answer

IMHO & my experiences - steel casings are risky - whether brand NEW or re-loaded

Kinda similar to my thoughts on maintaining decent tires on my motorcycle (I replace them long before they are completely worn out)

it's simply "cheap insurance"
