Conceal carry with CHL while fishing
« on: July 23, 2014, 10:27:37 AM »
My question is this. I am a very avid fisherman. I fish the entire Galveston bay complex. Both wade fishing and from my boat. So i own the boat not sure if that matters or not. But from time to time i run in to alligators and sharks, angry hogs and so forth. I am fairly new to having my CHL. When i am wade fishing or fishing from my boat if i have my CHL on me is it legal for me to carry my concealed weapon in my holster on my person as if i was walking down the street or in my car? I appreciate any info i can get on this. I have seen some discussion on this on other fishing forums and it goes back and forth what the law is.

Chetter818,

Yes, you can carry your concealed handgun any place other than a statutorily prohibited place. You are not prohibited from carrying your concealed handgun on your boat, or while you are wade fishing.

Thank you for the great question.
