Weapons on Boats
« on: March 07, 2014, 10:48:26 AM »
Can I leave my semi-auto pistol on my boat in a floating slip in a Marina? Boat has full living facilities (bedrooms, baths, kitchen, etc) Boat would be normally locked but possibly unlocked with me in the general area. Also, could I take my boat to Florida via the ICW (intracoastal waterway) TX LA MS AL FL, with my pistol onboard? Thanks

Yes, boats have the same rights as do cars for purposes of carrying a weapon. Therefore, possession of a gun on your boat is legal.

Also, while traveling on a boat it is recognized that your boat is also your residence.

Thank you for the question.
