Temporary Work In a different state
« on: December 28, 2015, 12:07:54 PM »
I am a Texas CHL holder and I live in Texas and attend school in Texas (Yay for Campus Carry in August). I am a permanent resident with a Texas CHL and Texas DL. This coming summer I will be working in Indianapolis Indiana (which I believe is a reciprocal state) as an intern. I will only be there for 12-14 weeks and then will return home to Texas. I will have an active lease on my apartment in Texas and will continue to pay all bills etc. I wont change my address on anything because it is only temporary.

My question is: Does the length of time I will be there affect my ability to carry with a Texas CHL? Is there someone in Indianapolis i should contact? I believe i should be okay but i wanted to make sure.

And I will be sure to avoid Illinois like the black plague.

Thanks!

Striker94,

This temporary relocation to Indiana will not change or affect your ability to carry pursuant to your Texas license.

Thank you for your question.
