Firearm Trust
« on: September 02, 2016, 08:07:36 PM »
My wife has expressed concern about having to dispose of my guns if I become incapacitated or die.  No one in my family is interested in having any of my guns.  I was thinking that a trust with a friend as a member of the trust would enable easy transfer of the guns.  Would this work?

sgwilbur,

There are a number of ways to handle this situation. Creating a trust would be a good way to take care of the eventual transfer of these firearms. Additionally, you could draft your will in order to leave the firearms with your friend. If you have specific questions about these methods, feel free to call in and speak with your program attorney.
