Car passenger with LTC
« on: September 07, 2016, 11:27:50 AM »
As a TX LTC holder, I'm aware of my responsibility if I am driving and I am stopped by the police. However, if I'm a passenger in a car that is stopped, and I have a concealed weapon, what is my legal responsibility, and what is the common sense approach?

Jay,

If you are a passenger in the car, you have your LTC, and you are currently in possession of your firearm, you are only required to provide the law enforcement officer with your LTC if he or she asks you specifically for identification. Government Code 411.205.

Thank you for your question.
