Anxiety Medication PA
« on: October 06, 2014, 10:32:29 AM »
Hello,
I have been experiencing some issues with anxiety concerning air travel related to work. I am concerned about requesting an anxiety medication from my doctor as I have heard that the use of anxiety meds may be grounds for revocation of my carry license. Are my concerns valid?

reggiemck,

Being prescribed anxiety medication does not make you ineligible to carry a CHL. In fact, under medical privacy laws, the Texas Department of Public safety cannot access this sort of information. The only way they would find out is if you were to tell them which we do not advise doing.

Thank you for your question.
