Flying to California, Driving back to Texas
« on: February 09, 2015, 09:51:43 PM »
Before beginning the journey, I am seeking validation of my understanding of different laws for different states.  My only remaining question has to do with flying into CA with a checked firearm.  The plan is to carry only CA-legal 10rd magazines and ammo (hollow point) in a separate box, but in the same locked case as per TSA requirements.
Once in CA, the plan is to leave the gun in its rock-like state locked in the case and unloaded until we exit the state by car.
Once outside CA, the plan is to follow the laws of each state with regard to reciprocity with Texas (mostly meaning not carrying concealed while in NV).
Does that all sound legitimate?
Thanks

zotparkerm,

Please call us so we can get more specific information from you. You may have an issue transporting the firearm from the baggage check to the vehicle.
