I go to youth sporting events NOT on school property. Also theses are Not high school aged kids.  The events are youth football and youth lacrosse. These are club sports not usually tied to a specific school.  As long as these events are not held at a school or prohibit concealed carry with a 30-06 sign are you allowed to carry at theses events?

Thanks.

Wellinm,

Yes, so long as it is not a school activity, not on school grounds, and is a non-professional sporting activity, you are fine. Do keep an eye out for 30.06 signs, but otherwise you can conceal carry on!

Thank you for your question.

I have a follow-up question on this subject.  From what I have read on this board in other posts, I assume that if the athletic complex is owned by a city, they are not allowed to post 30-06 signs anyhow.  Is this a correct assumption?

Dirks44,

If any of the aforementioned activities are taking place, you cannot carry regardless of signage. If a private individual or organization is renting out a city-owned athletic complex, they may be able to post an effective 30.06. This is a grey area in the law, I wouldn’t risk it if you encounter this situation.
