Transferring Inherited Pistol
« on: March 14, 2015, 11:07:59 AM »
My brother recently passed and I have his  SW 38 Special 6 round revolver.  His son is over 21 and would like to have the pistol.  I am happy to pass this on to him but I need to know if any registration is required or can I simply give him the gun.  I do not believe the gun to be registered currently.

Guidance in this matter is appreciated.

otom,

Nothing is required. So long as the son isnít legally prohibited from possessing firearms, he may simply take custody of the revolver.

Thank you for your question.
