Carrying Handgun in the Open
« on: April 05, 2014, 09:19:41 AM »
Hello again, TLS.

This is the security officer. I carry my gun in my holster to work, but I realize that's not always fine. I know it's fine to carry it to and from my car. So far no one's said anything about it; I've walked into 2 corner stores before/after work and no one said a word about it.

Do I need to keep it in the glove box when I go into a Kroger or any similar such store? Do I have any legal back-up if a clerk says I can't have it on in the store? I would like to know of any links to laws regarding this matter.

Thanks for the question standingmyground,

You cannot carry a gun while you are in uniform unless you are specifically at work or en route to work. En route to work does not include stopping off at detours and jaunts that are not involved with your employment.

If you are not at work, I would advise you to keep your handgun concealed in your motor vehicle.
