Property under your control

Am I authorized to open carry at work when I am the manager of my shop? I have chl but open carry is much more comfortable.

Thanks for the question CarsonATX.

Texas Penal Code 46.02, the law that makes it unlawful to carry a handgun, does not apply to a person's property or property under their control. Therefore, if there is sufficient evidence to show that your employer's property was "under your control," then yes, the illegality of open carrying a pistol should not apply to you.
